LNU started as the Northeast Business College in November of 1948. LNU was formed as a major university in 1958. LNU has 27 schools and 62 research institutes, with over 26,000 students, including over 18,000 undergraduate students, over 7,400 students º£½ÇÉçÇøing master's programs and 880 PhD candidates.
DMU has had a successful partnership with LNU since 2004 when a joint institute was established between the two institutions. Within the Joint institute, Sun Wah International Business School (SWIBS), as a faculty of LNU, and º£½ÇÉçÇø’s, Faculty of Business & Law, have collaborated on an enhanced progression agreement partnership under a 2+2 model. LNU students studied 2 years of the LNU award and then had the option to transfer to DMU to achieve a DMU award. Over the duration of the 2+2 partnership (supported by flying faculty teaching from DMU on some modules), many students have progressed to DMU, and many have also gone on to º£½ÇÉçÇø their master’s degree before returning to China.
The 2+2 programmes are being phased out and replaced with 4+0 Dual Award programmes; where the joint programme is delivered entirely in China over a period of 4 years. The new dual award provision partnership commenced in September 2023.
